Ship-Chic Fall Escape

Travel toward Northern Indiana with a nostalgic stop in Rockford, Illinois, for photos at historic Beyer Stadium, home of the Rockford Peaches featured in A League of Their Own. Continue to Schaumburg and enjoy a welcome dinner.

Visit Cook’s Bison Ranch and enjoy a guided hay wagon ride through the pasture with an opportunity to hand-feed American bison. Enjoy a chuck-wagon BBQ lunch before continuing to Middlebury and checking into the Essenhaus Inn & Conference Center. Spend the evening exploring the Village Shops and relaxing at the hotel.

Participate in a Make & Take workshop at The Quilt Shop, creating your own miniature quilt design while learning about Amish craftsmanship. Spend time at the popular Ship-Chic Craft Show featuring boutique vendors, vintage finds, home decor, and handcrafted treasures. Later, enjoy the Brown Bag Tour through Amish Country with stops at Teaberry Wood Products, Katie’s Amish Noodles, Yoder Popcorn, and other local favorites. End the day with a traditional Amish dinner at the Yoder family home.

Visit the Shrine of Christ’s Passion, where landscaped pathways and life-size bronze sculptures depict the Stations of the Cross. After time for reflection and exploration, begin the journey home.
